If you’re looking for a recipe to try out your Waspwaist Muddler, might we suggest the following cocktail recipe:

Caipirinha

The Caipirinha was invented by the landowning farmers of Piracicaba, which is in the interior of Sao Paulo for esteemed events and parties. The Caipirinha is the official cocktail of Brazil, featuring a refreshingly simple combination of Cachaça, sugar and lime. The sugar is a representation of the sugarcane culture that was seen in the region. There are still people out there that believe that the Caipirinha was originally created to ease the effects of the Spanish Flu towards the end of World War I. Either way, we enjoy the cocktail!

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Cachaça
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 lime cut into quarters

Combine the lime wedges and sugar in a double rocks glass. Muddle vigorously to combine. Fill the glass with ice, add the cachaça, and stir again. Garnish with a lime wheel and enjoy!
