Why Bigger Ice Matters

A single large cube or sphere melts slower than a handful of small ones, which means less dilution and a colder drink that stays balanced longer — the reason spirit-forward cocktails like an Old Fashioned or a neat pour benefit most from it. Our cubed mold makes six standard large cubes at once; the sphere mold shapes a 2.5″ ball, the classic choice for rocks glasses. For a genuinely clear sphere — no cloudy centre — our Crystal Clear mold uses directional freezing, the same principle behind clear ice at cocktail bars, so the cloudiness (trapped air and minerals) pushes out instead of getting locked in the middle.
